SPONSORS & PARTNERS:

The expedition has now moved from the research into the planning and organisation phases. Currently, the main issue associated with this expedition is that of funding for the provision of transport, equipment and insurance. I am in the process of costing the expedition and it is already in the ten's of thousands of pounds!

Rockall 2011 will offer significant sponsorship and partnership opportunities, outlined below. This will allow your company to benefit from brand association, PR, marketing and advertising campaigns, newspaper and media coverage. Upon request, I can provide an aspirational target media list which should aid any discussions. I have produced an expedition brochure for distribution to potential sponsors.

If you or your company are able to provide funding or are interested in future funding or supply of equipment, please contact Nick.

Beyond the Blue Horizon is a yacht charter company operating from the Outer Hebrides in Scotland and has some of the most experienced and competent crew in the UK. Their yacht, Elinca, is a 67ft steel cutter and has been involved in a number of recent Rockall attempts including an expedition in 2008 and the unsuccessful Belgian attempt in 2009. I have agreed a 'window' for my expedition in 2011 with the skipper Angus Smith, exact dates will be confirmed nearer the time.

Since 1973 Ampair wind turbines have been manufactured in the UK for use in extreme conditions worldwide. Their turbines have been used offshore in Finland and in Antartica, where Ampair wind turbines are the preferred choice because they are durable in extremely high winds; are built very well and so suffer less from water ingress; and because they also produce a useful amount of power in low winds. This makes them the perfect source of power for Rockall. I am very please that David Sharman at Ampair has come on board and agreed to provide the expedition with power generation equipment.
